DAART Campaign Code of Conduct

DAART is campaigning for fully funded accessible real-time telephone calls 24/7/365, and we want you to be part of the campaign.
We are a diverse and independent thinking group of people, and we want your participation in this campaign. The more the merrier. BUT, we ask that you help us keep the conversation useful, interesting and welcoming.

As much as we like diverse opinions, we will edit or delete comments which are offensive, make personal attacks, play politics or could expose us to legal action.

We don’t want to edit or delete comments on our website, yahoo group or Facebook page, but we will if the conversation strays from the topic, if the participants do not debate the issues, and if the conversation descends into flame wars or personal attacks.

You are free to make your points clearly, to disagree with someone, and say so, and if you wish, forcefully.  However, if you become abusive, defamatory or vexatiously repetitive, or if you breach someone’s privacy, then you will be banned from all of our sites.

Our website, yahoo group and Facebook page are public discussion space reflecting the views of our members and followers. From time to time one particular side of a discussion may dominate views expressed here. This simply reflects the natural flow of comments we receive.

All comments submitted to the DAART Campaign website and Yahoo group are moderated. This means contributions will be checked before they are posted to the sites. So if you plan on spamming, or causing trouble, you know what will happen, we will DELETE with much relish!

Comments posted on our Facebook page will be post-moderated. This means that we regularly check the group, and any comments that are found to be offensive, make personal attacks and distract from the campaign, will be removed!

If you have any questions about this policy, or believe you have been treated unfairly, you can get in contact with us.

By contributing to DAART forums and blogs, you:

  • give permission for your comments to be posted on the site and affirm that your comments are your own work and do not infringe on the copyright of any other individual or organisation
  • acknowledge that your comments will be subject to moderation by the DAART moderators before publication and that publication of comments will not be immediate
  • acknowledge and give permission for your comments to be used, without personal identification, by the DAART to promote the campaign
  • acknowledge that comments that contain images, hyperlinks, audio or video that are not relevant to this campaign will not be published

When contributing your views to DAART forums, blogs and websites, please ensure that you:

  • protect your personal privacy and that of others by not including personal information about yourself or others in your comments
  • post material that is relevant to the campaign
  • represent your own views and do not impersonate or falsely represent any other person
  • do not abuse, harass or threaten others
  • do not post anything which:
    • o racially or religiously vilifies others,
    • o incites, induces or aids violence, discrimination, harassment, victimisation or hatred towards others, or
    • o is likely to offend, insult or humiliate others, particularly on the basis of their race, colour, descent, national origin, religion, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation or any disability
  • do not make defamatory or libellous comments
  • do not use insulting, provocative or hateful language
  • do not use obscene or offensive language
  • do not post material to the forum that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
  • do not post multiple versions of the same view to all our sites
  • do not promote commercial interests in your posts to the forum
  • do not include internet addresses, videos, images or any email addresses, in your contribution that are not relevant to the campaign.
  • do not post comments promoting personal professional interests
  • do not post overtly party political comment (e.g. reference to candidates, fundraisers, support for political parties) and
  • do not incite, encourage or make reference to conduct that may constitute a criminal or civil offence or otherwise violate UK law.

We will revise this policy from time to time, and update it as needs arise.
